The Accreditation Coordinator manages the coordination of the full review portion of the Nonprofits First Accreditation cycle, as well as providing direction, assistance, and support to nonprofit organizations in the Accreditation program. The position also supports other team members in all Accreditation activities, as well as providing occasional support to other departments within Nonprofits First.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of the Accreditation process for assigned nonprofit agencies
  • Provide direction to nonprofit agencies as they navigate the Accreditation process through coaching, onsite/virtual reviews, templates, resources, etc.
  • Review and evaluate submitted Accreditation documents and materials for completion, accuracy, and compliance, identifying any anomalies, noncompliance, or areas of concern

ยง Coordinate the communication, documentation, scheduling, implementation, and follow-up for multiple organizations in a Full Review cycle of Accreditation

  • Track and report on agencies' Accreditation status throughout the entire process using the Accreditation Case Management system and other tools as appropriate
  • Generate innovative and creative ideas to enhance and improve the Accreditation product and process
  • Prepare Accreditation materials and packages for Executive Volunteer Corps and Accreditation Review Advisory Council members in a timely manner
  • Recruit, screen, train, and schedule Accreditation volunteers
  • Maintain Accreditation volunteer files
  • Monitor and guide Executive Volunteer Corps member during onsite/virtual reviews
  • Create, send, and coordinate initial packets and certificate award packets for all organizations in the Accreditation program
  • Maintain files, documents, records, etc. as directed and required
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as assigned and required
  • Provide access to the Pathways to Excellence Tool (P2E) to designated agency representatives, Executive Volunteer Corps members, consultants, and other approved parties
  • Primary internal resource for maintaining P2E form and tracking system; design additional web elements as needed
  • Help to ensure that links, templates, samples, etc. in the P2E are current and functional
  • Report issues to the Director of Accreditation and assist with troubleshooting, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned or required



Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree, supplemented by one years' experience in the nonprofit sector or a Master's degree in a relevant field (MSW, MPA, MBA) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Nonprofit work experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Ability to analyze and report data
  • Strong ability to prioritize, schedule, and manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Basic web development skills are preferred but not required
  • Volunteer management experience is preferred but not required

Special Requirements and Physical Demands:

  • Position requires travel in the local area. Must have reliable transportation,
  • Position requires adherence to traditional work hours and flexibility, ability, and willingness to work additional hours and weekends to meet business needs when necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in ongoing professional development activities in order to keep current on new developments in the field and to enhance skills already maintained.
  • Requires safely lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis, for example movement of materials and/or items.
  • Noise level is usually quiet to moderate
