Dynamic nonprofit organization is looking for a full-time (30 to 40 hours per week) accountant who enjoys working in a great environment with enjoyable people, flexible days and hours, excellent benefits. The accountant is responsible for the organization's financial accounts and records, with some general administrative and fiscal tasks. Duties include day-to-day bookkeeping (receivables, payables, and payroll), reconciling monthly cash accounts, and compiling monthly financial statements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gather, enter, and post all cash receipts daily.
  • Receive, review, and post all invoices for goods and services provided.
  • Prepare all payable information for review, then prepare checks and all documentation for signature once approved.
  • Enter all membership information into the accounting system for billing purposes.
  • Enter payroll information into the accounting system.
  • Pull reports from the retail system and balance them with the accounting system.
  • Reconcile cash accounts monthly by the 5th day of the following month.
  • Prepare monthly compiled financial statements by the 10th day of the following month.
  • Provide information for auditors and tax accountant when requested.
  • Assist with additional financial duties, as requested.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and accounting skills are needed.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting and collaborate with others.
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience with computers and other office equipment, such as copy machine and scanner required.
